I'm bad about buying gems to speed building up. I spent alot of money to upgrade my walls....which got me higher in xp number but my trophies were low. the balance of the game gets to a point where you can't save enough to upgrade resources or troops and you have to spend money, especially with the dark elixer.

I don't know what you're talking about...
(Mostly troop upgrades... lvl6 balloons are so worth it)
